History of Jhabak

Evolution of Jhabak

Jhabak also written as Jhabakh, Zabak and Zabakh is a gotra of Shvetambar Jain. It is said that the gotra Jhabak derived its name from JHABUA, Madhya Pradesh. It is also claimed that JHABAK has its root in Phalodi village of Jodhpur where it developed and flourished. Members of the clam later on spread across India from Phalodi.

Yugpradhan Acharya Dada Shri Jindatt Suri who were born in Samvat 1132 and attain Devlok in Samvat 1211 had established many sub castes of Shvetambar Jain which included Jhabak too.

Originally caste wise, Jhabak clan came from Rathore clan of Kshatriya. Similarly Chordia, Golechha, Parakh, Chhajed, Pokarna, Mohnot etc. came from the same clan.
